www.climatechallenge.gov.uk: Help to understand and communicate climate change. Includes house energy check
www.globalcool.org: Website contains some interesting environmental information. "Global Cool believes that professional communicators are best equipped to deliver essential messages to a vast, if not global, audience". A large number of household names are now publicising possible solutions to climate change.

Energy efficiency

www.energysavingtrust.org.uk: Website set up to promote energy efficiency.
www.sharedenergy.org.uk: Shared Energy is a Wandsworth-based umbrella for activity and ideas mainly around climate change and energy descent

Ethical shopping

www.ethicalconsumer.org: Magazine and research services looking at the ethical records of the companies behind the brands, for ethical investors, fundraisers, campaigners, and consumers.

Transport

www.transport2000.org.uk: Transport 2000 is the independent national body concerned with sustainable transport. It looks for answers to transport problems and aims to reduce the environmental and social impact of transport by encouraging less use of cars and more use of public transport, walking and cycling.
www.wandsworthcyclists.org.uk: Wandsworth Cycling Campaign (WCC) is the local group of London Cycling Campaign (www.lcc.org.uk) in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

www.westernriverside.org.uk: Recycle Western Riverside is a 5 year Western Riverside Waste Authority campaign encouraging residents to recycle, reduce their rubbish and buy more recycled products. The campaign works within the London boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea

Sustainable living

www.bioregional.com: Runs Bedzed - a Zero Energy Development in Beddington, Sutton. Worth a visit - can look around the show house for free, or have a guided tour for a charge.
www.whyorganic.org: The Soil Association has grown from a small but influential voice challenging the orthodoxy of chemical-based intensive agriculture, to an international authority on the principles and practices of organic farming.
www.foodupfront.org: Website under development at time of writing. Network of people who grow their own food in gardens, on balconies and window sills - anywhere where things can be grown, Members support each other, sharing knowledge and resources.
www.peakoil.com: It's likely that fuel prices will begin to rise steeply in the next few years as oil supplies stop growing every year and start to decrease - this is known as Peak Oil. This website contains useful information and links on this subject.
www.transitiontowns.org: This website is for use by all the communities that have adopted the a model for responding to the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change - ie how to prepare for a carbon constrained, energy lean world.
www.london21.org: London Agenda 21 is a London-wide network which organises the annual London Sustainability Weeks. Has specialist projects on Environmental Justice and Environmental Inequalities.

www.envirowise.gov.uk: Envirowise offers UK businesses free, independent, confidential advice and support on practical ways to increase profits, minimise waste and reduce environmental impact.
